On a mobile device, secretly installing software is much harder to do. As long as you do not download unauthorized apps from unauthorized software.
As long as they're using encrypted Wi-Fi or a cellular data connection, mobile users usually don't need to worry about malware hijacking their online-banking sessions.
DO NOT DO ONLINE BANKING USING PUBLIC WI/FI.
Or for that matter don't preform any sensitive online activity using public wi/fi.

1- Install the latest version of your bank's mobile app.
2- Create strong passwords for the mobile banking app
3- Take precautions with free Wi-Fi. be sure you have a VPN (virtual private network) installed. The VPN will encrypt your wireless communications over those unsecured wireless networks.
4- Ensure that your device is password-protected. If your device is lost or stolen.
5- Be careful with SMS text messaging. There are a lot of spam messages that are being sent out.
6- Use your bank's mobile app, rather than signing in through a mobile Web browser.
